Officers of the 20th Police Station of the Nasimi District Police Department have detained 48-year-old Rizvan Farajov during a specialized operation against the illegal sale and trafficking of narcotics. The suspect, who has a prior criminal record, was apprehended as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug distribution in the capital.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Operative Information Center-OMM, law enforcement officers discovered and seized 2 kilograms 430 grams of marijuana and 1 kilogram 117 grams of heroin from Farajov. In total, 3 kilograms 547 grams of illicit substances were recovered during the search. During his initial testimony, the detainee admitted to acquiring the narcotics for the purpose of sale.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fact, and a court order has been issued to implement a preventive measure of arrest against Farajov. In Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its local departments maintain a rigorous stance against drug trafficking, frequently conducting operations in Baku and regional centers to prevent the spread of illegal substances and protect public health. This latest operation is part of a broader national strategy to disrupt supply chains and hold distributors accountable under the criminal code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
