Unsettled weather conditions, characterized by precipitation and strong winds, have been observed across various parts of Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorology Service reported as of 15:00 on June 2 that a north-westerly wind is currently affecting several regions.
The maximum wind speed has reached 26 m/s in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as in Naftalan. Other notable wind speeds include 23 m/s in Goranboy, 22 m/s in Mingachevir, 20 m/s in Tovuz and Shahdag, 18 m/s in Kalbajar, Barda, and Aghdam, 16 m/s in Shabran and Tartar, and 15 m/s in Lerik, Oguz, Sheki, and Yevlax.
Additionally, intermittent rainfall has been recorded in Dashkasan, Gadabay, Ganja, Mingachevir, Gabala, Balakan, Zagatala, Sheki, Guba, Shahdag, Gusar, Qakh (Saribash), and Shabran.
The Absheron Peninsula, which includes the capital city of Baku, is frequently subject to strong winds due to its geographical location on the Caspian Sea coast. The National Hydrometeorology Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources regularly monitors these meteorological shifts to provide timely warnings to the public and relevant infrastructure authorities, ensuring safety during adverse weather events.
