The route scheme for the M6 express bus, which operates between the "Elmlar Akademiyasi" and "Genclik" metro stations in Baku, is set to undergo significant changes.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the adjustments are designed to enhance public transit efficiency.
"Based on citizen feedback and detailed operational analysis, and to meet passenger demand from the 'Koroglu' metro station toward the 'Elmlar Akademiyasi' and 'Nizami' stations, the M6 express buses will begin passing through and stopping at the 'Nizami' metro station starting August 24," the official statement reads.
The express route will be extended, with the 'Koroglu' metro station designated as the final terminal. Consequently, the M6 express line will now provide a direct connection between the 'Koroglu', 'Genclik', 'Nizami', and 'Elmlar Akademiyasi' metro stations, streamlining transit across these key hubs in the capital.
Baku's public transportation network, managed by AYNA, frequently reviews route efficiency to optimize travel times and accommodate the growing number of commuters in the Republic of Azerbaijan. These adjustments are part of ongoing efforts to integrate the city's bus and metro systems more effectively.
