A significant theft of electrical equipment has been reported at a company located in the Binagadi district of Baku, resulting in substantial material damage.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) released details regarding the incident. According to the investigation, unidentified individuals stole 539 meters of electrical wiring during the evening hours. The total material damage caused to the victimized company is estimated at 7,000 manat.
As a result of operations conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two suspects identified as 37-year-old R. Babayev and 27-year-old Sh. Shahbazov, both of whom have prior criminal records, were detained. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were former employees of the company. Following their dismissal, they allegedly planned the theft and subsequently sold the stolen electrical cables to a non-ferrous metal collection point. Investigations into the case are currently ongoing.
The Binagadi district, where the incident occurred, is one of the largest administrative divisions of Baku and serves as a significant hub for various industrial and commercial enterprises. In recent years, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan has intensified its efforts to combat property crimes and theft from infrastructure facilities, utilizing advanced surveillance and rapid response measures to ensure the security of private and state-owned businesses across the capital.
