On August 23, the weather in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula is expected to remain dry, according to the latest forecast. The National Hydrometeorological Service informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that a moderate south-easterly wind will prevail throughout the day.
Temperatures in the capital are forecasted to range between 23-26°C at night and reach 31-36°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure will be 758 mm Hg, with relative humidity levels fluctuating between 70-75% at night and 55-60% during the daytime.
Across the regions of Azerbaijan, the weather is also expected to be predominantly dry. Intermittent fog is anticipated in some mountainous areas during the night and morning hours, accompanied by an easterly wind. Temperatures in these regions are expected to reach 22-27°C at night and climb to 35-38°C during the day, with some locations experiencing highs of up to 40°C. In mountainous regions, temperatures will range from 13-18°C at night to 23-28°C during the day.
Extreme heatwaves are a recurring meteorological phenomenon in Azerbaijan during the summer months, often driven by subtropical air masses entering the region. Health authorities typically advise citizens to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours, stay hydrated, and follow official safety guidelines to mitigate the risks associated with high temperatures.
