Azerbaijan is bracing for a significant rise in temperatures, with forecasts indicating that the mercury will climb to 38°C on July 22. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorological Service has issued an official advisory regarding the upcoming weather conditions.
In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry. Winds will shift from north-westerly to south-easterly during the day. Temperatures in the capital are forecasted to range between 22-25°C at night and 30-34°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is expected to be 758 mm Hg, with relative humidity levels fluctuating between 60-70% at night and 45-50% during the day.
Across the regions of Azerbaijan, dry weather is also expected, though meteorologists have noted a possibility of localized short-term rain, thunderstorms, and hail in some mountainous areas during the day. Occasional fog is anticipated in certain high-altitude regions, accompanied by moderate easterly winds. Temperatures in the regions are expected to reach 22-26°C at night and 33-38°C during the day, while mountainous areas will see cooler conditions, with 13-18°C at night and 24-29°C during the day.
The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors such fluctuations in Azerbaijan's climate, which is characterized by diverse weather zones ranging from subtropical to alpine. During peak summer months, the country often experiences heatwaves, prompting authorities to advise citizens to take necessary precautions, such as staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours.
