On June 23, temperatures in Azerbaijan are expected to reach as high as 35 degrees Celsius, according to the latest forecast from the National Hydrometeorological Service.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that while the capital, Baku, and the Absheron Peninsula will experience variable cloudiness and generally dry weather, residents should prepare for sustained heat. Winds are expected to shift from north-easterly to south-easterly during the day. Temperatures in the capital will range from 19-22°C at night to 27-32°C during the day, with atmospheric pressure recorded at 762 mm Hg.
In other regions of Azerbaijan, the weather is expected to be more dynamic. While some areas will remain dry, intermittent rain is forecasted in several districts. The mountainous and foothill regions face a higher probability of short-term intensive precipitation, accompanied by lightning and potential hail. Fog is expected in some mountainous areas during the night and morning hours, with temperatures reaching up to 35°C in lowland areas during the day.
The National Hydrometeorological Service, which operates under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, regularly monitors these climatic shifts to provide timely warnings to the public. Such temperature fluctuations are typical for the summer season in Azerbaijan, where the diverse topography—ranging from the Caspian coast to the Caucasus Mountains—often results in varied weather patterns across the country.
