A fire broke out in an auxiliary building used as a garage in the Nardaran settlement of Baku's Sabunchu district, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) "112" hotline received the alert, leading to the deployment of the State Fire Protection Service to the scene.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the MES press service, the fire occurred in a 145-square-meter structure. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to adjacent buildings despite a high risk of expansion. The fire resulted in the destruction of 115 square meters of the building's combustible structures and roof, while a "LI" brand passenger car parked inside sustained partial damage. Additionally, three square meters of a nearby structure's roofing underwent deformation due to the heat. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The Sabunchu district, where the incident occurred, is one of the largest administrative territories of the capital, Baku. The State Fire Protection Service of Azerbaijan regularly conducts safety monitoring and rapid response operations across the Absheron Peninsula to mitigate the risks of industrial and residential fires. Authorities in Azerbaijan continue to urge citizens to adhere strictly to fire safety regulations, particularly in auxiliary buildings and storage areas where flammable materials or vehicles are kept.
