Law enforcement officers seized 40 kilograms of opium, marijuana laced with harmful substances, and 500 psychotropic methadone pills from them. It was established that the detainees acted as drug couriers under the instructions of drug traffickers residing abroad. Criminal cases have been initiated, and the suspects have been remanded in custody by court order.

Azerbaijan remains committed to combating international drug trafficking, actively securing its borders and conducting regular domestic operations to disrupt smuggling networks. Positioned at the crossroads of major regional transit routes, the country's law enforcement agencies continuously collaborate with international partners to prevent the transit of illegal substances.
