Weather conditions have deteriorated across the territory of Azerbaijan, characterized by lightning, intense rainfall in several regions, and heavy snow in mountainous areas.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that according to the National Hydrometeorological Service as of 9:00 AM on April 21, significant snow accumulation has been recorded. The snow depth reached 87 cm in Shahdag, 4 cm in Kalbajar, 2 cm in Lachin, and 1 cm in Gryz, Khinalig, Qusar (Laza), and Zagatala (Alibay).

The volume of precipitation was highest in Oguz at 59 mm, followed by Sheki with 54 mm, Gakh (Saribash) with 43 mm, and Gabala with 36 mm. Other regions such as Mingachevir, Shamakhi, and Zagatala also saw substantial rainfall. In the capital, Baku, and the Absheron Peninsula, 6 mm of rain was recorded, while minor precipitation of 1 mm was noted in Shusha, Khankendi, Khojali, and Fuzuli.

Such sharp changes in weather patterns during the spring months are typical for Azerbaijan's diverse climatic zones, which range from semi-desert to highland tundra. The National Hydrometeorological Service, which operates under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, continues to monitor the situation to provide timely updates for the public and relevant state agencies. These weather conditions are particularly significant for the country's agricultural sector and water resource management, especially in the mountainous regions of Garabagh and East Zangezur.
