Graduation examinations for the general (9-year) secondary education level were held across Azerbaijan today, with 52,687 students expected to participate. The exams covered several districts of Baku, including Sabunchu, Khazar, Yasamal, and Binagadi, as well as the cities of Sumgait, Ganja, Mingachevir, and Shirvan. Assessments also took place in the Absheron, Dashkasan, Shamkir, Gazakh, Gabala, Oguz, Lankaran, Jalilabad, Masalli, Beylagan, Aghdash, Aghsu, Gobustan, Sabirabad, Neftchala, Khachmaz, and Quba districts.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the State Examination Center (SEC), the process was organized across 216 examination buildings and 3,837 halls. To ensure the integrity of the process, 627 exam supervisors, 4,800 proctors, and 701 security personnel were deployed. Notably, the exams were also conducted in liberated territories, including the Aghali village secondary school in Zangilan, the M. Mehdizade secondary school in Jabrayil, and schools in Fuzuli.

The SEC reported that 34 students with physical disabilities, including those with visual impairments and cerebral palsy, were provided with inclusive conditions to complete their assessments. Special halls were allocated, and individual assistants were assigned to students with 81-100% visual impairment. Despite the smooth organization, three individuals were disqualified from the exams after being found in possession of mobile phones; an investigation into these incidents is currently underway.

The State Examination Center will begin processing exam protocols and answer sheets on April 13. Due to the requirement for manual grading of open-ended questions, official results are expected to be announced within the next five weeks. Correct answers for the closed-ended and codable open-ended questions will be posted on the official SEC website within the next 24 hours.

In Azerbaijan, these centralized graduation exams are a critical component of the national education system, serving as the primary metric for transitioning from general secondary education to vocational or specialized high school tracks. The SEC, established to ensure transparent and standardized student assessment, conducts these nationwide exams annually to maintain educational quality and meritocracy across the Republic.
