Yellow warning issued for windy weather in Azerbaijan

A yellow warning has been issued regarding the windy weather conditions expected in several regions of Azerbaijan from the evening of March 30 through March 31. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorological Service has released a forecast detailing the affected areas and expected wind speeds.

The service reported that a western wind will prevail in Nakhchivan, Agstafa, Gazakh, Dashkasan, Gadabay, Goygol, Kalbajar, Lachin, Zangilan, Ganja, Goranboy, Naftalan, Tovuz, Gobustan, Neftchala, Khizi, Aghsu, Shamakhi, Ismayilli, Sheki, Oguz, Gabala, Gusar, Shirvan, Mingachevir, Goychay, Hajigabul, Jabrayil, Salyan, Lerik, and Yardimli. Wind speeds in these regions are anticipated to reach between 13.9 and 20.7 meters per second.

A yellow warning indicates a potential weather risk, advising the public to remain cautious of possible disruptions to outdoor activities and infrastructure. In Azerbaijan, such warnings are part of a standardized meteorological alert system designed to inform citizens and relevant state agencies about shifting weather patterns, particularly in mountainous and foothill regions where wind gusts can be more severe.
