Azerbaijan's tourism opportunities were presented to a wide audience through a series of events held in the Chinese cities of Jinan, Shijiazhuang, and Taiyuan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, in partnership with China Travel Group (CTG), organized specialized seminars for local tourism representatives throughout December.
More than 300 professionals representing the Chinese tourism industry participated in the events. The primary objective of the seminars was to strengthen tourism cooperation between China and Azerbaijan and to promote the country's attractive travel destinations to the Chinese market.
Recent data indicates a significant increase in the number of tourists traveling from China to Azerbaijan. Between January and November 2025, a total of 60,636 Chinese citizens visited Azerbaijan, marking a 43.1% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth follows the implementation of visa facilitation measures and increased promotional activities aimed at the East Asian market.
Tourism remains a key sector in Azerbaijan's strategy to diversify its economy. By showcasing its unique blend of modern architecture in Baku and the historical heritage of regions like Shusha and the broader Garabagh area, Azerbaijan continues to position itself as a premier destination on the Caspian Sea. The partnership with major entities like China Travel Group is expected to further integrate Azerbaijan into global travel itineraries.
