US President Donald Trump has announced his readiness to suspend military strikes and bombardments against Iran for a period of two weeks, contingent upon the immediate and safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz by Tehran.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the US leader shared details of this strategic decision via his account on the Truth Social platform. President Donald Trump noted that the pause was initiated following urgent discussions with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, who urged the US leader to refrain from deploying planned destructive force against Iran during overnight operations.

The US President emphasized that the current situation constitutes a bilateral ceasefire, asserting that the United States has already achieved its primary military objectives and made significant progress toward a final agreement for long-term peace in the Middle East. Reports indicate that Washington has received a 10-point proposal from Iran, which is being considered as a framework for future negotiations. President Donald Trump claimed that consensus has been reached on the majority of disputed issues between the US and Iran, with the two-week window intended for the finalization and signing of a formal document.

"On behalf of the United States, as President, and representing the interests of Middle Eastern nations, I consider it an honor that this long-standing problem is nearing its final resolution," the President stated. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most vital oil transit chokepoints, and its closure has historically led to significant volatility in global energy markets. This diplomatic opening follows a period of heightened regional tensions, where the Republic of Azerbaijan has consistently advocated for stability and the principles of international law in the neighborhood.
