Temperatures in Azerbaijan are expected to rise to 24°C this Sunday as the National Hydrometeorological Service issues its latest weather forecast for the capital and regional districts.
According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the National Hydrometeorological Service, Baku and the Absheron Peninsula will experience changeable cloudy and occasionally gloomy weather on April 26. While conditions are expected to remain mostly dry, fog is anticipated in several areas during the night and morning hours. A moderate north-west wind will be replaced by a mild south-east wind by the morning. The temperature in the capital will range between 8-11°C at night and 15-18°C during the day, with atmospheric pressure dropping from 768 mm to 762 mm Hg.
In the regions of Azerbaijan, the weather is expected to be primarily rainless. However, short-term precipitation, lightning, and hail are possible in some mountainous areas during the daytime. Moderate western winds will prevail across the country. Regional temperatures are forecasted to reach 19-24°C during the day and 7-11°C at night, while mountainous areas will see highs of 8-13°C and lows of 0-5°C.
The National Hydrometeorological Service, an agency under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, regularly monitors atmospheric conditions across Azerbaijan to provide accurate forecasts for agriculture, aviation, and public safety. Such seasonal temperature fluctuations are characteristic of Azerbaijan's diverse climate zones, which range from semi-desert to highland environments, particularly during the spring months when transitional weather patterns often bring localized thunderstorms to the Greater and Lesser Caucasus ranges.
