Rainy weather conditions, accompanied by lightning and snowfall in mountainous regions, are currently being observed across several parts of Azerbaijan.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that according to the National Hydrometeorological Service as of 1:00 PM on April 4, unstable meteorological conditions are prevailing in the capital and various districts.
Currently, rain is falling in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as in Shahbuz, Ordubad, Aghstafa, Kurdamir, Kalbajar, Lachin, Qubadli, Shusha, Ganja, Sadarak, Sharur, Naftalan, Goranboy, Aghdam, Mingachevir, Sabirabad, Imishli, Quba, Qusar, Ismayilli, Barda, Dashkasan, Shamkir, Goychay, Sheki, Zagatala, Balakan, Yevlakh, Gabala, Oguz, Aghsu, Khizi, Khaltan, and Tartar. Such sharp changes in weather conditions are typical for the transitional spring period in Azerbaijan, where the diverse climate zones—ranging from semi-desert to alpine—often result in varied meteorological phenomena across the country. The National Hydrometeorological Service continues to monitor the situation, advising citizens to remain cautious regarding the strong winds and potential slippery conditions in mountainous terrains.
