The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that it carried out attacks on several petrochemical plants located in Saudi Arabia.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Iranian media, that the strikes targeted critical energy infrastructure within the Kingdom.
According to official statements, the operation targeted petrochemical complexes owned by Sadara, ExxonMobil, and Dow Chemical in the Al-Jubail region. Additionally, facilities belonging to Chevron Phillips in the Al-Juyama area were also hit. The IRGC specified that the strikes were executed using a combination of medium-range missiles and kamikaze drones.
This escalation comes amid long-standing regional tensions between Tehran and Riyadh. Saudi Arabia's energy infrastructure, particularly in the Eastern Province, has historically been a focal point of regional security concerns due to its vital role in global oil and chemical supply chains. Such incidents often lead to increased volatility in international energy markets and prompt heightened military readiness across the Persian Gulf.
