A freight train consisting of 10 wagons, transporting Russian wheat and propane to Armenia via Azerbaijan, departed today from the Bilajari station of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the shipment includes 630 tons of wheat across nine wagons and 36 tons of propane in one wagon. The cargo has been dispatched toward the Boyuk Kasik direction.
It should be noted that to date, more than 49,000 tons of grain, nearly 9,000 tons of fertilizer, 1,136 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, 1,114 tons of coal, and 67 tons of timber have been transported from Russia to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory. Additionally, nearly 15,000 tons of diesel fuel and approximately 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline have been exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia.
The transit of goods through Azerbaijan remains a critical component of regional logistics, facilitating trade routes between Russia and Armenia. Azerbaijan's railway infrastructure, particularly the route passing through the Bilajari station, serves as a vital link in the South Caucasus transport corridor, ensuring the efficient movement of strategic commodities across the region.
