The official signing ceremony for an agreement between Iran and the United States is set to feature high-level representation, with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and US Vice President J.D. Vance expected to attend, according to Iranian officials.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi confirmed the details regarding the upcoming diplomatic event.
Takht-Ravanchi stated that the agreement encompasses critical regional issues, including the cessation of military operations across all fronts—including Lebanon—the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, the lifting of maritime blockades, and the release of Iran's frozen assets.
Takht-Ravanchi noted that the signing ceremony will take place in Switzerland, though the specific venue has yet to be finalized.
According to the deputy minister, negotiations regarding nuclear issues are scheduled to commence immediately following the formal signing of this agreement.
Takht-Ravanchi made these remarks while responding to journalists following a meeting held by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi with foreign ambassadors and diplomatic representatives.
The Strait of Hormuz, a vital maritime chokepoint connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, is of immense strategic importance to global energy security. Approximately one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption passes through this narrow waterway, making any diplomatic resolution regarding its status a significant development for international trade and geopolitical stability.
