Gaza death toll rises to 73,789, Health Ministry says

Gaza’s Health Ministry has released updated figures on casualties recorded as a result of Israel’s attacks since October 2023.

Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the information was included in an official statement issued by the ministry.

According to the statement, the bodies of three more people and 27 injured individuals were brought to hospitals in the enclave over the past 24 hours. The total number of people killed since the start of the military operations has therefore reached 73,789, while 174,798 people have been injured.

The statement also said that 1,375 Palestinians had been killed and 4,686 injured in Israeli strikes since a ceasefire was declared on October 10, 2025. During this period, the bodies of 831 people were recovered from beneath the rubble. It added that thousands of bodies were still believed to remain under destroyed buildings because of security concerns and a lack of resources.

Gaza’s Health Ministry regularly updates casualty figures based on reports from hospitals and emergency services. Access to affected areas and the recovery of victims can be limited by ongoing security risks, damage to infrastructure and shortages of medical and rescue equipment.
