Traffic congestion reported on major Baku roads

Heavy traffic congestion is currently being observed on several central roads and main arteries in Baku.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Digital Development and Transport Agency's Intellectual Transport Management Center (ITMC) has released official data regarding the current road situation in the capital.

Drivers are advised that significant delays are currently occurring in the following directions:

  • Baku-Sumgait highway — towards "20 January" metro station;
  • Binagadi highway — towards "Azadliq Avenue" metro station;
  • Abdulvahab Salamzade Street — towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Tbilisi Avenue — from "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
  • Heydar Aliyev Avenue (main road) — towards the city center;
  • Afiyaddin Jalilov Street — towards Yusif Safarov Street;
  • Yusif Safarov Street — towards the city center;
  • Khatai Avenue — towards Heydar Aliyev Avenue;
  • 28 May Street — from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  • Dilara Aliyeva Street — from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  • Mikayil Mushfiq Street — from "Badamdar" circle towards School-Lyceum No. 20;
  • Ataturk Avenue — towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue — from the front of the Baku Olympic Stadium to the intersection with Ahmad Rajabli Street;
  • 8 November Avenue — from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the city center.

The management of urban mobility in Azerbaijan's capital remains a priority for the government as Baku continues to grow as a regional economic hub. The Intellectual Transport Management Center utilizes a network of cameras and sensors to monitor traffic flow in real-time, providing essential data to help mitigate the impact of peak-hour congestion and ensure the safety of commuters in the Republic.
