In the 2025-2026 academic year, 67 citizens of Uzbekistan pursued their education in Azerbaijan, while 176 citizens of Azerbaijan studied in Uzbekistan. This data highlights the growing academic mobility and strengthening ties between the two nations.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this information was shared by President Ilham Aliyev during an interview with the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA).

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that cultural and humanitarian cooperation serves as a cornerstone of the strategic partnership between Baku and Tashkent. He noted that Azerbaijan hosted the Uzbekistan Culture Days in 2023 and 2025, while Uzbekistan hosted the Azerbaijan Culture Days in 2024, a year that also featured the celebration of "Shusha Days" in the city of Khiva.

"A large delegation from Uzbekistan participated in the Turkic World Week held in Baku, which was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkic Congress," the President stated. He also expressed pride that the Uzbekistan National Pedagogical University, one of the country's oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions, bears the name of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi.

Highlighting the symbolic nature of bilateral relations, President Ilham Aliyev mentioned the "Uzbekistan" park, which spans five hectares in the center of Baku. The foundation for this park was laid last year by President Aliyev and his counterpart, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, serving as a testament to the enduring brotherhood between the two nations. Furthermore, the President noted that initiatives and projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation play a significant role in expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Educational collaboration remains a priority, with both countries actively working to build academic bridges and facilitate student exchanges, further cementing the deep-rooted historical and cultural connections between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
