Iran's Ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, has officially denied allegations that the new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is currently in Russia for medical treatment.
According to Russian media reports cited by Operative Information Center-OMM, the ambassador dismissed rumors suggesting that the Iranian leader had been transported to the Russian capital under high-security conditions.
Earlier reports had claimed that Khamenei was secretly flown to Moscow via a Russian military aircraft due to deteriorating health and specific security considerations. These reports suggested that the move was part of a confidential arrangement between Tehran and Moscow to ensure specialized medical intervention while maintaining the highest level of protection for the leadership.
Diplomatic and security cooperation between Iran and Russia has intensified in recent years, often leading to various speculations regarding high-level movements. Such reports frequently emerge during periods of political transition or heightened regional tensions. However, official sources in both Tehran and Moscow emphasize that bilateral relations remain focused on strategic, economic, and military partnership within the framework of international norms.
