Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a strong message regarding the fight against terrorism on the first anniversary of the Pahalgam attack.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Prime Minister emphasized the nation's collective resolve during his address. Modi highlighted that the country remains united in its determination to combat extremist threats following the tragedy that claimed 26 lives.
“As a nation, we are united in grief and determination. India will never bow before any form of terrorism. The insidious plans of terrorists will never succeed,” the Prime Minister stated, adding that the victims will never be forgotten. The commemoration events are currently being held in the Jammu and Kashmir region under heightened security measures to ensure public safety.
The Pahalgam attack, which occurred in April 2025, resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national. The incident triggered significant military operations and retaliatory strikes in the region before a ceasefire was eventually established. Jammu and Kashmir remains a critical area for India's counter-terrorism strategy, with the government maintaining a focus on regional stability and the protection of its territorial integrity.
