Traffic congestion reported on major roads in Baku

Traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads and avenues in Baku, causing significant delays for commuters.

According to the Intellectual Transport Management Center (NIIM), as reported by Operative Information Center-OMM, heavy traffic is currently being observed on the following routes:

  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
  • Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
  • 1st Gol Kenari road, heading towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadlig Avenue;
  • 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  • Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
  • Abdulvahab Salamzade Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Ali Mustafayev Street, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the city center.

Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, frequently experiences traffic congestion during peak hours due to the high volume of vehicles entering the city center from surrounding residential areas and neighboring cities like Sumgait. The Intellectual Transport Management Center regularly monitors traffic flow and updates drivers to help optimize travel routes and reduce travel times across the capital's road network.
