The construction of the Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala highway is scheduled for completion by December of this year.
According to information obtained by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads is currently finalizing the remaining technical work on this strategic infrastructure project.
In addition to this project, the agency plans to carry out the design and reconstruction of local, urban, and rural roads within the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic throughout the current year. These initiatives are part of a broader state program to modernize the transport network across Azerbaijan.
The Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala section of the Baku-Shamakhi-Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala highway, which serves as the shortest route connecting Baku with the Ismayilli, Gabala, Oguz, Sheki, Gakh, Zagatala, and Balakan districts, has been under construction since 2021. The project aims to significantly reduce travel time and improve safety for commuters traveling to the northwestern regions of the country.
Infrastructure development remains a top priority for the government of Azerbaijan as it seeks to bolster regional connectivity and tourism potential. The modernization of the Mughanli-Ismayilli-Gabala road is expected to facilitate easier access to major tourism hubs and support economic growth in the surrounding districts by improving logistics and transport efficiency.
