Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov has extended his congratulations to the personnel of the Azerbaijan Army on the occasion of June 15 – National Salvation Day.
This was reported to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Defense.
In his congratulatory message, the Minister addressed the officers, warrant officers, cadets, sergeants, soldiers, sailors, civil servants, and civilian personnel, wishing them continued success in their sacred and honorable service to strengthen the defense capabilities of Azerbaijan.
The message emphasized that upon his return to leadership, National Leader Heydar Aliyev played a pivotal role in overcoming the socio-political crisis and chaos that threatened the country's independence and sovereignty. Through his rich political experience, governance skills, and profound love for the homeland, he saved the nation and laid the foundation for Azerbaijan's modern development strategy.
Minister Hasanov noted that these policies are being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, which ultimately led to the historic victory in the Patriotic War. The message also acknowledged the significant support provided by First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva to veterans, martyrs' families, and wounded military personnel.
The Minister further highlighted that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan have been fully restored due to the President's wise leadership, diplomatic acumen, and the high professionalism and morale of the armed forces. He also underscored the ongoing contributions of the military personnel to the restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories, which are integral to the Great Return program.
National Salvation Day, celebrated annually on June 15, marks the return of Heydar Aliyev to political power in 1993, a turning point that stabilized the country and set it on a path of sustainable development and state-building.
