Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has been caught using inappropriate language during a live broadcast.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the incident occurred during the 12th Embassy Roundtable held at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Reports indicate that the minister's microphone remained active during his speech, allowing his private conversation with an interlocutor to be broadcast live. Footage shared by the Russian MFA on the social media platform X shows Lavrov speaking with an individual seated to his right.
As the event moderator invited journalists to ask questions, Lavrov was heard remarking, "They guessed, not bad already." Subsequently, as the moderator called upon a journalist from Yemen, the minister was heard responding to his interlocutor with profanity, stating, "No, [expletive], to hell with it, everything is already over," before continuing his interaction with the press.
This is not the first time Sergey Lavrov's public conduct has sparked ethical controversy. In 2016, following a press conference, he was recorded using a derogatory term in Russian after asking a journalist, "What do you want?"
The Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs serves as a key institution for training Russian diplomats and hosting high-level international discussions. Such incidents involving senior officials often draw significant media attention due to the strict protocols typically associated with diplomatic events.
