Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has delivered a series of significant statements at the Conference on Disarmament held at the United Nations office in Geneva. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the minister emphasized that the global peace and security architecture has faced unprecedented tensions and complex challenges in recent years, creating serious risks for world stability.

Araghchi highlighted the increasing reliance on nuclear weapons in the security doctrines of certain nations, noting that humanity currently lives under the shadow of more than 12,000 nuclear warheads. He reiterated that Iran's nuclear program is entirely peaceful in nature and expressed readiness to address all concerns in this direction. During his speech, the minister criticized the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), stating that this move dealt a heavy blow to international trust.

"Iran is always ready for result-oriented and meaningful dialogue. A second round of negotiations has been held with US representatives in Geneva. A preliminary agreement on core principles has been reached between the parties,"
the minister stated. Regarding national defense, he issued a stern warning:
"Iran is fully prepared to defend itself against any threat or act of aggression. The consequences of any attack directed against our country will not be limited to the region or our borders alone."

The Conference on Disarmament, where these remarks were made, is the world's single multilateral disarmament negotiating forum, established by the international community to negotiate arms control and disarmament agreements. The discussions regarding the JCPOA come at a critical time as US President Donald Trump leads the American administration's foreign policy. The JCPOA, originally signed in 2015, was designed to regulate Iran's nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions, and its future remains a focal point of international diplomacy and regional security in the Middle East.
