The Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MEDIA) held a meeting with the Director-General of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) to discuss strengthening cooperation in the global information space.
According to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", the meeting highlighted the necessity of collaborative efforts amidst rapidly evolving global media challenges.
Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of MEDIA, emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences to combat the spread of fake and unreliable information. He noted that expanding coordinated activities against disinformation, misinformation, and hate speech, while promoting media and digital literacy, remains a top priority for the agency.
Mohammed Al-Yami, Director-General of the Union of OIC News Agencies, underscored the significance of using innovative technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, responsibly and transparently during this era of digital transformation. He stressed that the application of new technologies in content creation, verification, and management must strictly adhere to professional journalistic principles and ethical standards.
The meeting concluded with a broad exchange of views on enhancing media literacy, promoting information security, implementing innovative solutions in the media sector, and exploring future cooperation prospects.
