The IV Shusha Global Media Forum is set to take place on July 13-14 of this year. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this announcement was made by the Media Development Agency (MEDIA) of Azerbaijan.
The event, themed "The mission of media in promoting peace: Restoring truth and rebuilding trust," will bring together nearly 160 media representatives, experts, and officials from 54 countries. The forum will feature participation from approximately 30 international news agencies, over 60 leading media organizations, and representatives from nearly 10 international organizations and companies.
The forum's agenda includes panel discussions, one-on-one meetings, and interactive sessions addressing critical issues such as the role of media in peacebuilding, cross-border media dialogue, restoring public trust, international cooperation in combating disinformation, creating a secure information environment on digital platforms, media ethics in the age of artificial intelligence, and responsible journalism.
The event aims to emphasize the importance of responsible conduct in media, contributing to practical steps toward restoring fractured trust between societies, strengthening digital solidarity, and ensuring peace.
The Shusha Global Media Forum has established itself as a leading international platform for discussing the global media agenda. Since its inception, the forum has brought together nearly 600 influential media representatives, experts, and officials from 81 countries. Previous iterations focused on topics such as "New Media in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution" (2023), "Unmasking False Information: Combating Disinformation" (2024), and "Digital Transitions: Strengthening Information and Media Resilience in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" (2025).
Given the rapid changes in the global information landscape, the upcoming forum will continue to prioritize discussions on digital transformation, the impact of artificial intelligence on news production, and the necessity of international cooperation in the face of modern media challenges.
