President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the successful holding of the first elections to the country's new parliament, the Mazhilis.

I extend my sincerest congratulations to you and your brotherly people on the successful holding of the first elections to the new parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Mazhilis.
I am confident that this significant event, which symbolizes the beginning of a new historical stage in the socio-political life of Kazakhstan, will serve the comprehensive development of your country, the continuation of the large-scale reforms you are implementing, and the realization of the tasks ahead. I wish the Mazhilis success in its work.
