Law enforcement officers in the Masalli district have seized a large quantity of narcotics during a successful anti-drug operation.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that employees of the Masalli District Police Department conducted a targeted operation to combat the illegal trafficking and sale of controlled substances in the region.
During the operation, 37-year-old Jalal Nurullayev, who has a prior criminal record for similar offenses, was detained. Upon inspection, police discovered and seized a total of 5 kilograms of marijuana, heroin, and opium from his possession.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fact. By court decision, a preventive measure of arrest has been chosen for J. Nurullayev, and investigations are currently ongoing to determine the source of the drugs and potential distribution networks.
Drug trafficking remains a priority for Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of its nationwide strategy to ensure public safety and health. The Masalli district, located in the southern part of Azerbaijan, is frequently monitored by law enforcement to prevent the transit and local sale of illegal substances. The Ministry continues to implement comprehensive measures to identify and neutralize organized crime groups involved in the narcotics trade across the country.
