A delegation led by Martin Chungong, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), visited the Alley of Honor in Baku on May 4 as part of an official visit to Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the delegation members honored the memory of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people and the architect and founder of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan, by laying fresh flowers at his grave.
The visit underscores the strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and international parliamentary organizations. The Alley of Honor serves as a prominent memorial site in Baku, where distinguished Azerbaijanis, including heads of state, scientists, and cultural figures, are interred. Such visits by foreign dignitaries are a traditional part of official protocols in Azerbaijan, reflecting respect for the country's history and its foundational leadership.
