The winter break for the 2025–2026 academic year in Azerbaijan's general education institutions is scheduled to begin on January 27.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that, according to the relevant decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, the vacation will span from January 27 to January 31, lasting for a total of five days.

The decree also applies to pre-school preparation groups within general education institutions. For schools operating on both five-day and six-day work weeks, the first school day following the winter break will fall on February 2, 2026.

In Azerbaijan, the academic year is divided into two semesters, with the winter break serving as a transition period between the first and second halves of the curriculum. These scheduled breaks are regulated by the Cabinet of Ministers to ensure a standardized educational process across all regions, including Baku and the liberated territories. The Ministry of Science and Education oversees the implementation of these schedules to maintain consistency in the national schooling system.
