The official visit of the President of the Republic of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, to the Republic of Azerbaijan concluded on April 23.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a guard of honor was lined up in honor of the high-ranking guest at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, where the national flags of both countries were flying. President Edgars Rinkēvičs was seen off at the airport by Azerbaijan's First Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, and other official representatives.
The visit highlights the growing diplomatic and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia. Both nations maintain a strategic partnership, particularly within the framework of energy security and transport corridors connecting the Caspian and Baltic regions. Latvia has consistently expressed support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and remains a key partner for the country within the European Union, fostering collaboration in trade, education, and digital transformation.
