The Kuwaiti Armed Forces have announced that their air defense systems successfully neutralized a series of aerial threats targeting the country's airspace. According to the Ministry of Defense, the interception prevented potential damage to national infrastructure.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Defense spokesperson, Colonel Saud Abdulaziz al-Atwan, confirmed that the incident occurred in the morning hours. Air defense units intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles and 13 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that were attempting to breach Kuwaiti airspace.
Officials stated that there were no casualties or material damage reported as a result of the interception. The military remains on high alert to ensure the security of the nation's borders.
According to statistics released by the ministry, Kuwait's air defense forces have been highly active in recent months. Since February 28, the country's defense systems have neutralized a total of 906 unmanned aerial vehicles, 383 ballistic missiles, and 15 cruise missiles, highlighting the ongoing regional security challenges facing the Gulf state.
