Hakan Fidan: Azərbaycan-Ermənistan normallaşmasından məmnunuq

Turkey welcomes the progress achieved in the peace and normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, in Moscow.

According to Fidan, he and Lavrov discussed recent developments in the South Caucasus:

"We have reaffirmed the importance of the stability and regional cooperation that the ongoing peace and normalization process will bring to our region. We are pleased with the progress made in the peace and normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia."

Fidan noted that the steps taken within the framework of the process demonstrate that the peace effectively established in the region is now being reflected in practical terms:

"Increasing economic ties, expanding transport and trade routes, and developing cooperation in the energy and logistics sectors based on the principle of mutual benefit will form the foundation of regional stability. We believe in the importance of resolving South Caucasus issues through dialogue and cooperation among regional countries and close neighbors. In this regard, we consider the '3+3' regional cooperation platform to be of significant importance."

The '3+3' platform, which includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Turkey, and Iran, serves as a key mechanism for regional dialogue. By promoting direct engagement among neighboring states, the initiative aims to foster long-term stability and economic integration, moving the South Caucasus toward a new era of cooperation following the resolution of the conflict in the Garabagh region.
