The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the strikes carried out by Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against the Nakhchivan airport in Azerbaijan.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), that official Doha considers the attempted ballistic missile strike against the brotherly Republic of Türkiye and the attacks using Iranian UAVs on civilian infrastructure—specifically the airport in the Republic of Azerbaijan—to be unacceptable.

"Such hostile actions represent a dangerous escalation and a gross violation of the sovereignty of states, as well as a direct threat to regional security and stability," the official statement emphasized. The Qatar MFA warned that the Islamic Republic of Iran's continued efforts to open new fronts and increase tensions in relations with neighboring countries are extremely dangerous.

The Ministry urged an immediate end to this irresponsible policy, calling for adherence to the principles of good neighborliness and international law, while prioritizing the interests of the peoples of the region. "The Ministry expresses the full solidarity of the State of Qatar with brotherly Türkiye and Azerbaijan, as well as its support for all measures they take to protect their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity," the document noted.

This diplomatic stance by Qatar highlights the growing international concern over regional stability in the South Caucasus and the Middle East. Nakhchivan, an exclave of Azerbaijan, holds strategic importance, and any targeting of its civilian infrastructure is viewed as a significant breach of international norms. Qatar's vocal support for Azerbaijan and Türkiye underscores the strengthening of political and security ties between Doha, Baku, and Ankara amid evolving geopolitical challenges.
