Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with the Prime Minister of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, within the framework of the 82nd session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) held in Bangkok.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan released information regarding the meeting on its official X account. The sides discussed Azerbaijan's priorities as the chair of the UNESCAP session, the prospects for expanding bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Thailand, and various regional issues of mutual interest.
"I am honored to meet with Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul within the framework of the 82nd session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. I look forward to further developing our partnership," Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov wrote on his social media account. The minister is currently on a working visit to the Thai capital, where he is scheduled to deliver a speech at the session starting April 20 and hold several high-level meetings with official representatives.
Azerbaijan's chairmanship of this UNESCAP session highlights the country's increasing influence in the international arena and its commitment to fostering socio-economic cooperation across the Asia-Pacific region. UNESCAP, as one of the five regional commissions of the United Nations, serves as a vital platform for member states to address complex challenges, including sustainable development, trade facilitation, and climate resilience. This diplomatic engagement in Bangkok aims to strengthen Azerbaijan's multi-vector foreign policy and enhance economic ties with Southeast Asian partners.
