Israeli leaders have expressed serious dissatisfaction with the manner in which the United States organized a ceasefire agreement involving Iran.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), that Washington notified the Jewish state of the ceasefire at the final moment without prior consultation.

According to the report, US President Donald Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortly before the announcement to present the ceasefire as a fait accompli, bypassing traditional coordination channels. Despite the lack of prior discussion, Israel reportedly agreed to participate in the ceasefire during the dialogue. However, Israeli authorities expressed further discontent regarding initial requirements for including Lebanon in the agreement. Consequently, the Jewish state has publicly declared that it has no intention of halting military operations against Hezbollah.

The diplomatic friction highlights the complex security dynamics in the Middle East as the new US administration seeks to recalibrate regional stability. Historically, Israel and the United States have maintained a close strategic partnership, particularly regarding Iranian influence in the region. However, the unilateral nature of this recent communication suggests a shift in tactical coordination, occurring against the backdrop of ongoing tensions involving Hezbollah in Lebanon and broader regional security concerns in Azerbaijan's extended neighborhood.
