The Israeli military has issued fresh warnings of imminent strikes against several towns in southern Lebanon, despite the current ceasefire agreement. Avichay Adrae, the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), announced on the social media platform "X" that the towns of Qana, Debel, Qaqaait al-Jisr, and Srifa would be targeted.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the military spokesperson demanded that local residents evacuate and move at least one kilometer away from their current locations. These targeted settlements are located in areas of southern Lebanon that are not currently under Israeli occupation. This follows a similar pattern of warnings, including an alert issued on April 30 regarding 23 other towns in the region.

The escalation comes amid a fragile security situation in the region. While US President Donald Trump announced on April 24 that a 10-day temporary ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon had been extended for an additional three weeks, both the Israeli military and Hezbollah have reportedly continued mutual attacks. Since the intensification of hostilities on March 2, the Lebanese government reports that over one million people have been displaced, with the Ministry of Health confirming more than 2,600 fatalities. The ongoing conflict has significantly impacted regional stability, drawing international calls for a permanent diplomatic resolution.
