The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has summoned the Iranian Ambassador to the UAE, Reza Ameri, to hand over a formal note of protest regarding recent escalations. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the ministry issued an official statement detailing the diplomatic move.
The ministry declared its strong condemnation of Iranian attacks, emphasizing that the strikes on UAE territory constitute a gross violation of sovereignty, a threat to national security, and a clear breach of all international conventions, resolutions, and norms. The UAE government firmly rejected any justifications provided by Tehran for actions targeting civilian infrastructure, including residential areas, airports, ports, and service facilities.
"This serious and irresponsible escalation ignores the UAE's clear position of not allowing its territory to be used for any military operations against Iran. These attacks contradict the principles of good neighborliness and the UN Charter, while simultaneously undermining the UAE's policy of de-escalation and peaceful resolution regarding Iran," the statement read. The UAE further warned that such actions would lead to serious consequences at political, economic, and trade levels.
This diplomatic rift comes amid heightened regional tensions in the Middle East. The UAE has historically maintained a delicate balance in its foreign policy, seeking to reduce friction with Tehran through economic engagement while remaining a key strategic partner to Western allies. This latest incident marks a significant departure from recent efforts to stabilize bilateral relations and reflects growing concerns over regional security and the protection of critical infrastructure in the Persian Gulf.
