Iran's state television has announced that 32 vessels have received official permission to pass through the strategic Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the passage of the ships was closely coordinated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy and other relevant maritime authorities.
The report highlighted that five supertankers were among the vessels granted clearance. These tankers navigated the critical waterway under the direct supervision and approval of Iranian maritime forces, specifically the IRGC Navy. Iranian authorities emphasized that security and monitoring operations in the Strait of Hormuz remain ongoing to ensure maritime safety.
Industry experts note that such regulatory measures are highly significant for global energy markets, particularly amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz is widely recognized as one of the world's most vital transit chokepoints, facilitating the passage of approximately one-fifth of the global oil consumption and a major portion of liquefied natural gas shipments daily.
