Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Tehran will not succumb to pressure or accept excessive demands in any potential negotiations with the United States.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the president emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will maintain its sovereign stance and refuse to make concessions under duress. "The Islamic Republic will under no circumstances surrender to pressure and excessive demands," Pezeshkian said, reiterating that any diplomatic engagement must be based on mutual respect and equality.
Relations between Washington and Tehran have remained highly strained since the US withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA) and reimposed heavy economic sanctions. With US President Donald Trump leading the administration in Washington, discussions surrounding Iran's nuclear program and regional influence continue to be a focal point of international diplomacy, with Tehran demanding the lifting of sanctions as a prerequisite for any major diplomatic breakthrough.
