Iran is currently reviewing a comprehensive plan regarding the management and oversight of the Strait of Hormuz.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Fadahossein Maleki, a member of the Iranian parliament, announced that the proposal is being evaluated by both the legislative body and the country's Supreme National Security Council.

Maleki, who serves on the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, stated that the plan has been officially registered within the parliament. He emphasized that the Supreme National Security Council is prepared to conduct a thorough investigation of the document. During committee sessions and various discussions, several proposals regarding the strategic management of the waterway have been put forward to address regional security and oversight.

The Strait of Hormuz is recognized as one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, facilitating the transit of a significant portion of the world's petroleum liquids. Located between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, the strait is vital for global energy markets. Any legislative changes or shifts in management policy by Tehran are often viewed with high importance by the international community due to the waterway's impact on global trade and regional stability.
