Iran has executed an individual convicted of collaborating with Israeli intelligence services.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the judiciary-linked Mizan News agency, that the death sentence was carried out against a citizen identified as Soltanali Shirzadi Fakhr.
According to official reports, Fakhr was charged with establishing contact and cooperating with Israeli intelligence agencies. The Iranian judiciary stated that the defendant allegedly confessed to participating in various "terrorist operations" directed against the Islamic Republic. The execution was conducted after the sentence was reviewed and upheld by the country's Supreme Court.
This development comes amid a long-standing shadow war between Iran and Israel, characterized by mutual allegations of espionage, sabotage, and targeted assassinations. Iran frequently announces the arrest and execution of individuals it claims are working for foreign intelligence agencies, particularly Mossad. International human rights organizations have often raised concerns regarding the transparency of such trials and the use of capital punishment in the country.
