Iran has announced its readiness to completely destroy the energy infrastructure of US allies in the Middle East in the event of repeated attacks against its territory.
Why is Iran targeting US allies?
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Sky News released this information, citing Ebrahim Zulfiqari, a representative of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Military Command Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces.
According to Zulfiqari, the strike by Israel on Iran's South Pars gas field was a serious mistake. "If Iran's energy facilities are targeted again, subsequent attacks on your and your allies' energy infrastructure will not stop until they are completely destroyed. Our response will be many times harsher than yesterday's attacks," he stated.
Escalating tensions: The events of March 18
It should be noted that on March 18, US and Israeli forces conducted strikes on Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf, where Iran's main oil terminal is located, as well as on facilities at the South Pars gas field, currently the world's largest gas field.
In response, Iran attacked a major energy facility in neighboring Qatar yesterday evening. This morning, in retaliation for the strikes on its gas fields, Iran also launched strikes against the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
The current escalation marks a significant deterioration in regional security, directly impacting global energy markets. Under the leadership of US President Donald Trump, Washington has maintained a firm stance on regional stability and the protection of strategic energy corridors. The South Pars field, shared between Iran and Qatar, remains a critical focal point of the conflict due to its status as the world's largest natural gas condensate field, representing a vital component of global energy supply chains.
