President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has made a phone call to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to express solidarity following recent regional developments.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Press Service of the President of Azerbaijan, that during the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev strongly condemned the attacks carried out against Azerbaijan using Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The Uzbek leader expressed Uzbekistan's full support for Azerbaijan, emphasizing that his country consistently stands by Azerbaijan in all matters of security and sovereignty.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the phone call and the demonstration of fraternal support. Providing details regarding the incident, the head of state noted that the situation is currently under full control. The leaders also discussed the future development perspectives of the friendship, brotherhood, and alliance relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, reaffirming that both nations will continue to support each other on all platforms.
The relationship between Baku and Tashkent has reached the level of a strategic partnership in recent years, characterized by frequent high-level visits and deep cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
