President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Khanoba village of the Khojavand district on March 18 to inspect the ongoing restoration and reconstruction of individual housing and infrastructure.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state and the First Lady visited the home of Beybala Gasimov, a resident who has recently resettled in the village. Following the house visit, President Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva met with other members of the local community who have returned to their native lands. During the visit, the head of state joined the residents to light a traditional Novruz bonfire, marking the arrival of the spring holiday in the liberated territories.
The reconstruction of Khanoba is part of the "Great Return" program, a large-scale state initiative aimed at the sustainable resettlement of internally displaced persons to the territories liberated from occupation. The project involves the comprehensive rebuilding of residential areas, the establishment of modern infrastructure, and the restoration of essential services to ensure a high standard of living for returning citizens in the Garabagh region.
